Unofficial Web Sites

These are personal or unofficial web sites. There are numerous sites that fall in this category (and many sites rapidly disappear) so I'll just put in a few that are of particular interest or importance.

  • China: Chinese [PLA] Navy Homepage - A small and now rather dated homepage about a rapidly developing navy that can not be ignored.
  • France: Net-marine - Includes lots of information about the French Navy and its new aircraft carrier, Charles de Gaulle [ENGLISH and FRENCH]
  • France: French Fleet Air Arm - Masses of information about French naval aviation, past and present. [ENGLISH and FRENCH]
  • Greece: Hellenic Navy [ENGLISH and GREEK]
  • India: Indian Navy (Bharatiya Nau Sena) - Photos, information and news about the Indian Navy
  • Italy: Marina Militare Italiana (Italian Navy) - A reasonable site with some good information on new projects.
  • Poland: Polish Navy Homepage - A complete listing of the Polish warships. [ENGLISH and POLISH]
  • Russia: State of the Russian Navy - Out of date, but still some interesting information about what remains the world's second largest navy.
  • Russia: Russian Navy - an apparently semi-official site with an emphasis on the history if the Russian Navy. [ENGLISH and RUSSIAN]
  • Spain: Spanish Navy - A quite good unofficial navy site with plenty of links. [ENGLISH and SPANISH]
  • United Kingdom: David Hasting's Aviation Page   - Wonderful pictures of various British planes & helicopters.
  • Battleships, Carriers And All Other Warships - Sadly much of the information formerly on this site is no longer available, but still links to some good discussion boards.
  • Haze Gray & Underway - On-line resource for naval information which includes the excellent "World Navies Today" section which has the best and most comprehensive fleet lists on the web.
  • Weapons and Warfare (on the Web) - Really just another list of links but still recommended.
